when 'are you there' starts to play, i cloose my eyes and the moment i open them, it takes a few seconds to remember where i have been.
do anathema have to make such songs? :')

A "painful" track. Makes me cry like a child, but after the song's over I feel pure like a baby.
Great album. It is not heavy..as a sound.. it is heavy in emotional way, if you know what I mean.....especially "Violence" .. a true masterpiece.

you definitley are right. if you dare to close your eyes, it takes you from where you are and, gleefully, does not bring back smile

A Natural Disaster is a great slow blues tune...when the guitar comes in, it reminds me a bit of Dazed and Confused smile

again, almost a concept album in the way all the songs are related to each other, and there is a sort of narrative in the order of the songs...too bad it's over just after I thought I'd started it...it ends too soon

I strongly agree..feelings and emotions in this album heavier than its sound. You gotta feel it,only listening is not enough to understand what this album means.

The only thing I don't like about this album is that there is not much guitar in the songs

By the haunting shadows of trees and graves mesmerized am I

I think this is one of Anathema's most fulfilling albums. This is the sound that got me into them in the first place. The first song I heard was "Are You There?" and I was hooked. I don't know about you guys, though, Electricity is very special to me. Either way, the album is flawless front to back. Very few bands have the emotional/atmospheric talents that Anathema has, and A Natural Disaster captures that; from the cover all the way through the record, it's brilliant. I don't think I'll ever forget it.

Someone finds salvation in everyone
And another only pain
Someone tries to hide himself
Down inside himself he prays
Someone swears his true love
Untill the end of time
Another runs away
Separate or united?
Healthy or insane?

To be yourself is all that you can do

I'll Always Love You Pathetic Oblivion - Restless Oblivion

It`s great album after a sick a.f.d.t.e. The only problem for me - integrity, moods created by songs are too different... This disk has real diamonds like Flying, Are u there, 2000m/s.
But. It sounds like TheBestOf-album for me. Collection of great songs. I can` escape this feeling.
Anathema lost its power, with that they created their best - E. and A.4. But they are still great and unique songwriters and surely not in the mainstream.

How can you possibly say that?

Anathema is not the kind of band that would release an album without 'perfecting' it in their opinions.

I think that anathema has changed in thier style of music over the years. Their recent net release 'Everything' was so different in style to thier music before. but i think by reading the lyrics you understand the reasons for the style of music it was played in. Everything was so hopefull I felt it needed a style of music that was "uplifting" for it. yet when you look at the album "A silient Enigma" it shows the anger and betrayal in love and life. Where as A natural Disaster shows the pains of losing someone that was so dear to you. In my opinion thier music has changed over time, but thiers always been those ones that hit you in each album such as one last goodbye in judgement. or which ever song effects you.

I wouldnt say a Natural disaster was the worst album.. its one of my favourite and I think it depends on what you want from music. But I think it shows how anathema has changed in their way of looking at life and gives people hope and understanding ...

hard to nexplain really n this may sound confusing... hmmmmm...?

If life is a cycle, does it means things can't change? Will thier always be people, who forever live with pain?

I should agree with this, it`s really hard to say. Album is weak if we take it as a whole work of art. Anathema should simply cancel using so much electronics. It ruins emotion, that album really has, as always !
But... Anyway... To create something special you have to be really in a special state. Of mind, and of soul. We will never see Eternity-II. It`s life.

i didnt hear that much electronic in "a natural disaster", apart from some voice effects on "closer" and thats about it..."eternity" on the other hand is stuffed with layers of keyboards, which are, as far as i know, electronic devices.

OH MY GOD,  The worst songs anathema has ever created  originate from this album.
THOSE SONGS are ELECTRICITY (probably the most embarrasing song to be caught listening to and worst song ever in the history of anathema, then comes Closer, OH and NATURAL DISASTER very very bad song, Harmonium, and CHildhood dream, ANd the rest are works of art!

We realize the design is a little messy in Internet Explorer, but it will change only when new version of Anathemaniacs appears. For now you can switch to one of other web browsers like Mozilla Firefox or Opera (by the way, they both are much better solutions than IE).
