Hello there. In 1997 when the guys released Eternity, I went to see them live in a little club here in the north Italy where I live and taped the full show... somewhere I should still have this tape for sure. The point is that I remember some interviews of that time from the band concerning what it would be their next album Alternative 4, saying that a song called Eternity Part IV was ready to be on it. I remember the at that show, they ended the gig with an unhearded song as encore... a reeeeally heavy slow epic doom long song.. I still remember the obsessive guitar riff... Sunset of the age style... and Eternity Part III reprising lyrics. Does anybody know something about this stuff???? Anyway..... I will try to search the tape in the dephts of my house, record the song with a digital recorder from the tape and put it om my pc and if permitted I will post it on the forum... Believe me the song is great and is in full Silent Enigma style (good old days to me). Anyway... Anathema is a genious guys band and soooo much underrated. Greetings from Italy

Here we are.. this is an .amr file... I can listen to it with a Nokia multimedia player... the file includes Sentient followed by what I'M SURE is Eternity Part IV for a running time of about 14 minutes.. both palyed in 1997 as final songs for that gig.. The song is truly amazing... it's a pity that never surfaced on any album... the level of the song to me is equal to Kingdom.. We, the gods.. Sunset of the age.. A dying wish... let me know your opinion! Ciao

Simone

Eternity pt IV was originally going to be a spoken word thing, going into an acoustic piece which ended up on the last track on 'Antimatter - Planetary Confinement'. If I remember rightly, in Italy the promoter demanded that the band play a longer set each night, which resulted in a 10 minute+ jam

Yes, you're right. In fact the promoter asked to the band to play longer, but to me the last track dosen't seem to be a jam. Do you know for sure that this stuff wasn't a sort of demo song or something..? ... And the lyrics from Eternity Part III in the middle..? Thanks!! Regards

I'm not sure really. It was a long time ago, and I can't hear what you have uploaded yet wink

You can hear that strange kind of ".amr" file downloading a Nokia Multimedia Player 1.1 for free searching with google and playing it. Ok.. the sound is a piece of crap but back in 1997 I recordered that concert on tape and now the only way I can move that music on the pc is to digitally recorder the thing directly from the amps of my stereo with the recorder featured on my mobile phone.. but.... who are you..?!? smile

It sounds strange to me, that file has a running time of about 14 minutes!

there is a way to pass your tape to pc, more easy..
only get a plug cable and conect your  walkman or tape recorder to the mic  on the pC, then record whit cool edit, or  other record software  tahat you have...

*sorry the terrible  french jejejeje

We realize the design is a little messy in Internet Explorer, but it will change only when new version of Anathemaniacs appears. For now you can switch to one of other web browsers like Mozilla Firefox or Opera (by the way, they both are much better solutions than IE).
