Pagan Angel/Anathema’s first demo is pretty respectable, even if it sounds like it was recorded in the Cavanagh’s rumpus room. Lord of Mortal Pestilence is a great a song that should have been re-recorded on later Anathema albums; seriously, this demo gets an “A” because of this song. “An Iliad of Woes” is a pretty impressive introduction into the death metal world. Highly recommended!

A more detailed review to follow.

Can anyone tell me: is the original cassette of this demo of better sound quality than those mp3s on the internet or not?

We realize the design is a little messy in Internet Explorer, but it will change only when new version of Anathemaniacs appears. For now you can switch to one of other web browsers like Mozilla Firefox or Opera (by the way, they both are much better solutions than IE).
